City Boy 03:39
City Boy © Graham Bodenham 2021 I was raised in a small town place Didn’t know where to find my space People there didn’t like my face I didn’t fit in their slow lane pace Then I got a job in the city Took that train to temper the pity All the bright lights, exciting and pretty Looked in awe and that made me want to be a city boy I was quick to find my way Learned to graft and earn my pay Hard at work and hard at play Dance all night and work all day Made some friends, took me under their wing Late nights we’d debate everything At sunrise we’re still in our swing That’s when I left the past behind to be a city boy Got a room on a noisy street Cheap as chips cos it’s got no heat It’s just a place to rest my feet But it’s close to the place we meet Got a break to tour with a band Where I learned everything I can Applied myself to be a better man That’s when I realised that I’d become a city boy Instrumental Many years my life’s in a whirl Rich reward, I found my pearl Then we travelled half the world Found my way back home to be with my city girl

Little Girl Lost © Graham Bodenham 2022 Little girl lost, little girl scared To take the first step with someone who cares Little girl lost, little girl sad I could have been the best friend you never had Little girl lost, little girl try Break out of your chains and reach for the sky You took me by surprise just the other day You’re just what I needed, you blew me away You told me a story I was hooked from the start I had to believe it was straight from the heart You hit some trouble now you’re out of your home Make a fresh start now you’re on your own I wanted to help you realise your aim But that’s hard to do when there’s so much pain I really thought we could make it No-one here was trying to fake it But a leap of faith and how to take it, was too far It’s hard to commit you don’t wanna be used There’s too much distraction, you’re so confused I gave it my best shot and you turned away What else could I do to convince you to stay?

When 05:19
When © Graham Bodenham 2019 When you’re hurting from a fall When you’re waiting for a call When it’s just too long a haul When you feel you’ve hit the wall That’s when you need a friend To guide you to the end When you just can’t find the words And you fear you’ll be absurd All you want is to be heard But your words land in the dirt That’s when you need a friend Support that never bends When you know that you’ve been played When your trust has been betrayed And your fears can’t be allayed By those promises they made That’s when you need a friend To help you start to mend Instrumental That’s when you need a friend To guide you to the end Support that never bends To help you start to mend

Opposites 04:24
Opposites © Graham Bodenham 2019 You’re driving up front, I ride in the back You wear bright colours, I’m dressed in black I wanna go left, but you turn right I’m out all day, you work all night We’re so different, but that’s alright We’re so different, but that’s alright I’m quite sure, but you sometimes doubt I keep it quiet, you shout it out You’re always running, I prefer to walk I’m always singing, you prefer to talk We’re so different, but that’s alright We’re so different, but that’s alright I was square till you came round I was lost until you found You’re poetry, I’m rock ‘n’ roll I’m the heart and you’re the soul We’re so different, but that’s alright We’re so different, but that’s alright You say go and I say yes Sometimes east and sometimes west From mountain high down to the coast These opposites attract the most We’re so different, but that’s alright We’re so different, but that’s alright

Roses And Lilies © Graham Bodenham 2014 Roses and lilies, one brings joy and one brings tears Roses and lilies, beautiful to mask our fears On the day you walked away, you didn’t talk to me No chance to find a change of mind, you just need to be free I wasn’t there to show I care, you’re feeling quite resigned Now’s the time to make the climb and leave the pain behind Roses and lilies, the ones we love, the ones we’ve lost Roses and lilies, the sharpest thorn, the scent so soft Sheer the cliff, I wonder if it’ll bring me back to you Look away amongst the waves, I know what I must do Face the breeze, I feel at ease, tears roll down my face The sea’s my friend and in the end I’m joining your embrace Roses and lilies, show your love, reveal your pain Roses and lilies, memories of a sad refrain Years go by and though I try, it still hurts every day Those things unsaid inside my head, just won’t go away I hope you know I miss you so and when I find release We’ll meet once more on some distant shore and share a little peace Roses and lilies, the ones we love, the ones we’ve lost Roses and lilies, the sharpest thorn, the scent so soft

Respeta Mi Espacio © Graham Bodenham 2021 Respect all the forests, they’re the lungs of the earth We need to understand what they’re worth The Amazon’s burning, Australia too Antarctica’s melting, what can we do? The oceans are filling up with plastic We try to use less but it’s got to be drastic It’s killing the dolphin, turtle and whale They’ll keep on dying if we fail Where did all the animals go? Respeta mi Espacio Keep the trees and let them grow, Respeta mi Espacio No more fracking down below, Respeta mi Espacio Our kids will reap what we sow, Respeta mi Espacio The air is thick with traffic pollution We’ve got to act now to find a solution Fossil fuel’s at the end of its era The future could be bright if we can do it all cleaner Harness the sun and the wind and the wave That’s how our planet can be saved It’s time to stand up for what we believe So clean up our act and let nature breathe Where did all the animals go? Respeta mi Espacio Keep the trees and let them grow, Respeta mi Espacio No more fracking down below, Respeta mi Espacio Our kids will reap what we sow, Respeta mi Espacio

This Time 04:13
This Time © Graham Bodenham 2022 There’s a clock on the wall it says a quarter to nine, babe It’s getting late, you’re still working, you don’t see the time, babe But your conscience won’t yield until you finish the line, babe Feel like you are pushing against a stone wall Trying to find an open doorway It doesn’t make any sense at all Maybe it’s time to reconsider your way, this time We gotta get out of here and feel the wind and the sea, babe No distractions outside, now for a while you are free, babe I can be there for you and you can be there for me, babe Feel like you were pushing against a stone wall Until you found an open doorway We start to make some sense of it all Ever since you reconsidered your way, this time On a hot summer night when we are free from the ties, babe We can lie in the grass beneath the stars in the sky, babe We will feel the peace like we are ready to die, babe Feel like you were pushing against a stone wall Until you found an open doorway We start to make some sense of it all Ever since you reconsidered your way, this time

3am 04:13
3am © Graham Bodenham 2021 It’s 3am and I’m wide awake I hold you close and hear each breath you take It’s 3am and I just can’t sleep The rocking boats on the lapping sea It’s 3am, I’m thinking about how I love you You’re lying serene on crisp white sheets The roar of the ocean on a warming breeze It’s hot tonight, I take stock tonight Here with you is all I need to be free It’s 3am, I’m thinking about how I love you Pale moonlight through dappled leaves On swaying branches of the banyan trees Beads of sweat on the arc of your back Shine like stars in the inky black It’s 3am, I’m thinking about how I love you The whispering wind turns the page The embers crackle and the candles wave Your elegant neck, you tantalize You roll your body into mine It’s 3am, I’m thinking about how I love you Guitar solo It’s 3am, I’m thinking about how I love you

Fragile Flame © Graham Bodenham 2018 A deafening silence fills these rooms Where laughing children used to play The bedroom’s quiet as a tomb Now that you have gone away I welcomed you into my heart To nurture, protect and guide My dreams are now broken apart The fragile flame now dead inside You gave me hope that we might be together There’s room in my heart for you to stay The trouble was, she thought that she knew better And in the end she threw it all away In the end she threw it all away The memories I will always keep Of Indian summer and autumn hues The dreadful pain still runs deep My heart now chilled by winter’s blues Instrumental And in the end she threw it all away In the end she threw it all away

Open Up Your Heart © Graham Bodenham 2021 Your confidence has been knocked around all week You sometimes feel a fool or a useless freak Your faith is on the floor The story says, turn the other cheek We hope and we pray for the poor and the meek That’s what you’re hoping for See the light again, learn how to fly again forget your strife On your own again, you need to grow again rebuild your life Breathe the air again, hope to share again making a fresh start Need to trust again, dare to love again open up your heart You’ve been up and down this road so many times In and out of sight you weave the line You’re searching for a clue Something special something fine Now is the time to begin to shine You’re starting something new Give to others as you would receive In your self you must believe A way to leave your pain From darkest thoughts you’ll feel reprieve Inner peace you can achieve When you love yourself again
